Visit Calvary Chapel
Plan your visit
We thank you for your interest in visiting Calvary Chapel! It will be an honour to have you as our guest. We look forward to welcoming you to one of our services.
Visiting a church for the first time can be daunting so we have provided information below on what to expect when you visit Calvary Chapel. If you still have questions, please feel free to contact us in the form below for more information.
When you arrive
We hope you feel a warm welcome as you come into Calvary Chapel. We are excited to see both new and returning faces alike. As you come through the front doors of the church, you will be welcomed by one of our friendly greeters and as you go into the sanctuary, one of our ushers can help you find a seat. Our ushers and greeters are there to help you so if you have questions, please feel free to ask.
What should you wear?
One of our most asked questions is ‘what should I wear'?’ We want you to feel comfortable so please come as you are. You will find people in everything from a t-shirt to their Sunday best.
Worship
At 9:15 am and 11:15 am the countdown hits zero and our worship team begins to lead our congregation in singing and praise for our worship service. The words will be projected up onto the screen so you can sing along and engage in the worship service however you feel comfortable to do so.
The message
After the worship part of the service our pastor or one of our ministers will preach a message followed by in invitation to prayer.
The whole service is usually around 90 minutes.

After the worship service when the offering is being taken up, children will go out to Sunday School. We cater for children aged 3 up to Year 10 in separate classrooms.
If your child would like to go to Sunday School, please let the greeters or ushers know and they can take you to the classroom.

Calvary Chapel is a family church and welcomes children in our services. If you would like to take your child out, we have a creche at the back of the sanctuary for children who are under the age of three. This is unsupervised so an adult will need to accompany the child. There is a speaker and a large window in the creche so you will not need to miss out on any of the service.
Mid-week Service and Small Groups
During the week, we gather in homes around Canberra for small group bible studies. Pastor Jonathan also leads a small group in the church basement that you are welcome to join if you are not a part of a group already.
On the second Wednesday evening of the month at 7:30pm, the whole church comes together for a ‘Combined Bible study’. On these evenings we also have Kid’s Club (4 - 9 years), BU Club for girls aged 10 - 16 years and Pathfinder’s Club for boys aged 10 - 16 years.
